As a true Aegean island, Kythnos certainly doesn&#8217;t lack in flavor and creativity.<\/p><p>What to try first:<\/p><p>The famous sfouggata<\/p><p>You might think they&#8217;re just simple cheese croquettes. Yes, but with a difference: they are made from local, unsalted goat cheese crumble! They make the perfect first meze for tsipouro and ouzo. You will find it on every table.<\/p><p>Pies (koukoulopita &amp; pitaro)<\/p><p>The pies here always have thin dough. Both are again based on the cheese crumble. Koukoulopita also includes spring onion and dill. Excellent appetizers (or even breakfast items).<\/p><p>Kaparosalata (Caper Salad)<\/p><p>Delicious and creamy. Made with boiled potato, capers, local olive oil, lemon or vinegar.<\/p><p>Local goat meat<\/p><p>Stewed in tomato sauce or lemon sauce, or grilled chops.
